I read this passage in my devotional on August 5th and just knew that she would “get it” and embrace the truth of the statement.

I am toying with the idea of changing my focus from just greeting cards and calendars to organizing spaces and making them a more welcoming place. If you read the Feb. 12th entry, you are aware that I enjoy organizing offices. Well, Lessie saw the incredible improvement in Kim’s office and requested my help with her office. I will be helping her organize this weekend and will be posting before and after shots soon.

It would be awesome if I could pursue a career as a professional organizer. May God smile on this endeavor.

Three weeks ago, I became an official ChaCha guide. ChaCha is a free service to cell phone users (though texting charges may be incurred by your cell phone co.) You just call (800) 2ChaCha and ask any question that come to mind. It is the ChaCha guide’s job to find your answer and text it back to your phone. I am loving it. If you are interested in becoming a ChaCha guide, email me and I will tell you more about it.

I made this card yesterday after seeing one similar at Stamp Club. The colors used are apricot appeal, pink passion, pretty in pink, certainly celery, & very vanilla.

The star and circle are chipboard that have been inked in the corresponding colors. “Best”, “Dad”, and the outline of the star were all done with a white gel pen. I believe the white ink against the dark colors really make them pop.
Have a happy Father’s Day!

I decided to use my new Sell-a-Bration set, Birthday Whimsy, to make his card. It is hard to tell in this picture but the gift, cake, and balloon are all popping from the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The colors that I used for this card are Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, and Certainly Celery. The Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery are textured cardstock. A slit punch was used to create the scalloped edge. The word window was used to punch out “Happy birthday” & “... and many more!” I like the way it turned out. I hope you do, too.

The scallop punch was for them to label the price they would be charging for the cards.

I have finally finished my obligations toward higher learning! I am so excited to have that weight off my shoulders. I should have more time to devote to my card making again now. I will be receiving my latest order of SU! merchandise this weekend. I will officially have the entire set of chalks, watercolor crayons, and markers for all four color families now. Next step is restocking my paper in all four color families.... wouldn’t want to run low with all those fun colors to play with.

They are so easy to apply. I am not sure how well they will hold up to the dishwasher, but when I find out, I will let you know. This particular coffee mug came from Starbucks and is their dishwasher safe version. It is a gift for my dear friend and SU! demonstrator Kim Jones.

I learned an excellent tip at stamp club this month! When doing watercolor, load your blender pen with the chalk but before coloring your picture, unload the chalk onto scrap paper until you reach your desired shade of that color. You can then go back in with a darker shade to add shadows. I must say that the caption, “Joy is not in things, it is in us.” is true. Making this card did indeed fill me with joy. Looking at it brings me joy. But the truth is that the joy comes from the accomplishment of creating something so beautiful. The joy will not grow from hoarding the card for myself but will increase when it is given away.
God bless you as you give a little of yourself to others.
I am so excited for him. It is so much fun to do what you love and to bless others with your talents. I know this will be a very rewarding experience for him. He already has his first photo session scheduled and a second seems near at hand.

I love getting free stuff! I am having so much fun making cards with my new stamps, inks, embellishments, embossing templates, etc.

Here Comes the Bride is from the She’s All That stamp set. It is my current favorite. It includes 4 silhouettes: (one holding a bday cake) “make a wish!”, (one holding a coffee cup and walking a poodle) “life is good!”, (the bride above) “here comes the bride”, and last but not least, (a pregnant) “you look fabulous” stamp.

I now have the supplies to do embossing and rub-ons, so you can expect to start seeing a lot more of those soon.

Conference in Tulsa, OK. last weekend! I learned some great new techniques that I can’t wait to start using. I had a wonderful, refreshing time with a great group of girls. I will be hosting a stamp club meeting at my house this week which means I will have an abundance of new materials to work with very soon! Yeah!
The cold, wintery weather inspired me to create something comforting. The beautiful, cool, spring weather inspires me to create something new and fresh. When the intense heat of summer arrives, it will likely find me seeking refuge in the air conditioned shelter of my stampin’ corner... looking forward to the cool autumn breezes that will be just around the corner.
